Datagility Holiday Bonus
Dataccount’s year-end holiday promotion goes into effect today. We have seen a great interest in Datagility, our ISV product line. We wanted to provide an opportunity for VAR resellers to close the year strong with a Datagility product. VARs have found that adding a Datagility solution to a Dyanmics GP package can reduce the total cost of licensing while filling specific functionality gaps.
Whether you are looking to expand inventory and supply chain management capability, manage e-mail and documents more effectively, or want to empower sales teams, our Datagility suite provides value to your customers.
Holiday Bonus #1: We are offering a 50% discount on Datagility Licensing for VARs who used a Datagility product to close a deal in 2010. This 50% discount is good on all deals registered by December 31st and goes to the VAR to use however they wish.
But wait -- you can still take advantage of this holiday offer, even if you haven’t closed a deal in 2010! Any deals registered or closed between now and Dec 31st will also be covered by this special promotion until January 31st 2011*
Dataccount would also like to recognize the hard work done by sales reps across the industry this year. Our second holiday promotion is a thank you for all the people who have been working with us in 2010.
Holiday Bonus #2: We are offering to the VAR sales rep that closes a deal by December 24th a holiday bonus directly to you of 5% of MSRP licensing costs.
And remember, any Datagility deals over 50 seats are eligible for special pricing!
Happy Holidays and a Successful and Healthy New Year from the team at Dataccount!
Contact Dataccount for pricing.
*Offer valid for new Datagility clients/users or second product purchase of Datagility for a client (not valid on additional licensing for same client & product).

Nothing is Private on Open Wi-Fi
It’s a familiar enough scene. You’re in a coffee house, at the airport, or in the library – places where everyone connects without thinking twice. But, if you’re using an unencrypted connection to check a client, read an email or do any Web activity that requires a login, you might as well have spotlights and a camera on you.
Well … you ask, what if I’m just surfing competitor sites? Nothing to lose, right? Wrong! Some simple wireless packet analyzer software nearby could glean competitive intelligence based solely on the sites that you visit and any instant messaging, along with personal e-mail. A stranger could be reading your messages before you are, and you may never know it.
Add to that, there is a new Firefox extension called Firesheep that claims you can highjack a persons Amazon, Facebook, Twitter or Windows Live account over an open Wi-Fi connection. The extension is also customizable, allowing a hacker to target other Websites not listed by Firesheep.
What’s a business to do?
It’s imperative that you keep your information safe. Try using a Virtual Private Network (VPN) client to create a secure means of communicating to your office. It will prevent Firesheep from stealing any data passing between your computer and the router since all communications will be encrypted.
A VPN is a secure method of accessing company resources (Intranet, e-mail, databases). The VPN connection is made between the mobile computer and the company’s office. This connection is encrypted not just over the wireless, but over the whole Internet. Some VPNs may seem slow, but security makes it worthwhile. Also, VPN bypasses Internet restrictions imposed by some countries – a boon to business travelers in China or Egypt.
Many websites will use encryption, similar to a VPN. When browsing the web you will sometimes see https (note the “s,” it stands for “secure”) in the website’s address -- this means that what you are seeing from the site, and sending to the site, is encrypted. This is done to prevent anyone that is listening in on your wireless or internet traffic from reading the data, and getting your information.
Call Brian at Dataccount (212.595.1044, x 105) to discuss VPN, or other methods of protecting your valuable information while working on the road.

Summer Ends and New Opportunities Start
The end of summer always brings to mind thoughts of school and buckling down to meet new challenges. And the challenges we meet today have more serious consequences than those we met in the classroom – our businesses cannot afford to fail the tests of efficiency and profitability.
Many of our clients have a sales force out in the field. These folks in the front lines are always dealing with customer orders, inventory, supply chains and fulfillment. Often, they keep notes in a paper notebook, much like the one they carried at school. But we at Dataccount are able to offer our clients a safer, better, faster electronic model.
Datagility Sales can realize as much as 100% return on investment with reduced cost of Dynamics GP licensing where there is a dedicated sales/order-taking department.
Sales reps with Datagility Sales can take orders on the road with a small laptop or netbook and then upload them through most Internet connections. This mobile solution allows reps to see item information and the last synchronized inventory and speeds up on-the-road-and-in-house order taking.
We really mean ‘no more teachers, no more books’ – paper notebooks, that is. Prevent loss of profit and increase efficiency by providing your sales teams with Datagility Sales.

Convergence 2010 The Event.
The Dataccount team has just returned from the Microsoft Convergence conference in Atlanta and let me tell you – it was a spectacular event! Nearly 8000 Microsoft customers, resellers and programmers gathered to help harness this powerful technology and find solutions that could fit every customer need.
We met a great many people and did a large number of demos of our Datagility line of products for Dynamics GP. Datagility enhances sales order processing and distribution management, alleviating many business pain points, while meeting specific challenges, improving productivity and making sales teams more effective. Be sure to click on our Datagility link to learn more about our five Datagility offerings.
This was a very successful show – and here are some photos of the Dataccount booth. Ace programmers Andy Timms and Simon Tinkler were on hand to demonstrate these enhancements and we generated a lot of interest. More details to follow.
Right now, we're busy catching up with new (and old) friends met at Convergence, and we appreciated the chance to participant in the overall dialogue, nine general sessions, 400 concurrent general sessions about content, interactive discussions and hands-on labs. It was also a fabulous opportunity to connect with Dynamics GP users and partners.
For us, the key learning of the event was the elasticity and opportunities inherent in Dynamics GP. It's not only a powerful tool for managing finances, but can be effectively deployed with Datagility enhancements to manage allocations, off-site sales, distribution and a host of other uses. These are exciting times for the GP user with more good news to come!

DATACCOUNT INTRODUCES DATAGILITY PRODUCT LINE
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Datagility to Debut at Microsoft Convergence Conference in Atlanta, GA
New York, April 22, 2010 – Dataccount today announced the launch of Datagility, a new product line of add-ons to Dynamics GP that increases functional capabilities while providing flexible entry and viewing screens for easier processing and reduced errors. The product line, which currently has five distinct add-ons, will debut in booth 1142 in the Microsoft Convergence Conference in Atlanta, GA, at the Georgia World Conference Center, April 24-27, 2010. The Dataccount team has long-term experience in developing and implementing cost-effective solutions tailored to Dynamics GP, and is providing the Datagility line of products to generate greater return on investment for GP-users.
The Datagility product line customizes and more finely tunes Dynamics GP to meet business goals. Datagility products include on-the-road and in-office Sales entry (without running a GP application session); enhanced documents management; easy inventory item creation; auto-allocations, and simple available-to-promise.
"We have seen that our clients needed increased business agility … the ability of a business to adapt rapidly and cost efficiently in response to changes in the environment," said Russell Frost, Principal, Dataccount. "The Datagility line of products for Dynamics GP enhances sales order processing and distribution management, alleviating many business pain points, while meeting specific challenges, improving productivity and making sales teams more effective.
The Datagility line includes:
- Datagility Sales: an on-the-road and in-office Sales entry software solution (without running a GP application session)
- Datagility Docs: an enhanced documents management suite
- Datagility Items: for easy inventory item creation
- Datagility Allocations: an auto-allocations tool
- Datagility ATP: providing simple available-to-promise
"The Datagility line is a boon to any company that does distribution, has a sales team, or works with inventory," said Andy Tims, Software Development Director. "Datagility Docs can improve business functions in more innovative ways than the standard GP package and Datagility Sales is an essential tool for sales reps on the road."
